A man has been arrested after a motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries following a two-vehicle collision.

Officers were called to Holderness Road in Hull at 19:30 GMT on Sunday to reports of a crash involving a Vauxhall Astra car and a black and red NIU MQI motorbike at the junction of Westcott Street, Humberside Police said.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital to receive medical treatment for life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the car, a 25-year-old man, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving without due care and attention and driving whilst unfit through drugs, the force said.

He remains in police custody while officers continue their inquiries.

Humberside Police has appealed for witnesses or anyone with information or dashcam footage to get in touch.
