Murdoch's Connection Bridge links Hull's city centre with its waterfront and marina

A bridge that links Hull city centre to the marina and waterfront will be given an "essential" deep clean, the council has said.

The £22m Murdoch's Connection Bridge allows pedestrians and cyclists to cross the busy A63 dual carriageway and the council said cleaning of the canopy was needed to enhance its appearance and longevity.

The work will be carried out on the evenings of Monday 17 and Tuesday 18 March, and has been co-ordinated to take place alongside the planned overnight closures of the A63 Castle Street project.

A spokesperson for the council said the work was part of their "ongoing commitment" to maintaining Hull's infrastructure.

Councillor Mark Ieronimo said by carrying out the works overnight, the aim was to "minimise any inconvenience to the public while ensuring that essential maintenance is carried out efficiently and effectively".
