Is it wrong to charge people to enter the Big Pit?

Visitors gave a mixed response to the news that the Big Pit National Coal Museum has started charging people to enter.

The museum in Blaenavon, Torfaen, will now cost £8 per person, with some concessions, on a trial basis until July 2026.

In a Senedd report, the culture committee said access should remain free on principle and called for better funding for Welsh museums.

The Welsh government said it was committed to keeping entry to all seven museum sites free and would consider the report's findings.
