'Who is going to want to date a widower?'

Geraint John, whose wife died two-and-a-half years ago from pancreatic cancer, describes his grief as like a film with a mix of emotions.

He says there are moments when "you think you are doing really well" but then "something happens and you are in the depths of despair again".

Geraint, who had not been on a date in 20 years, said the experience of online dating was "degrading but funny" - with one throwing a drink over him.

"Who on Earth is going to want to go on a date with a 42-year-old widower with three kids?" he said.
