Young Urdd winner melts hearts with message to mam
The tearful reaction of one of the Urdd Eisteddfod's young competitors has been shared over a million times on social media.
Guto Bell, seven, from Ysgol Bro Lleu in Penygroes, Gwynedd, was the winner in the recital competition for Year 3 and 4 schoolchildren.
But it was his words while accepting the award that has really melted hearts.
Guto told the Cyfrwy Stage: "Thank you mam. I said that I didn't want to recite, but then I tried my best for mam. I love my mam loads."
Eisteddfod yr Urdd is being held in Margam Park near Port Talbot between 26 and 31 May.
The annual festival - which celebrated its 100th birthday in 2022 - brings together young people to compete in events in categories including music, literature and performing arts.
