Passengers travelling between Brighton and Gatwick Airport have been told to expect delays and cancellations due to "a number of incidents".

Southern, Thameslink and Gatwick Express services were affected on Tuesday morning, with warnings of delays of up to 30 minutes or route changes at short notice, according to Southern Railway.

A speed restriction because of a damaged track between Brighton and Preston Park and a signalling fault between Three Bridges and Gatwick Airport were blamed for the disruption, which is expected to last until 11:00 GMT.

Tickets are being accepted on Southern, Thameslink, Gatwick Express and the Underground on "any reasonable route" between Brighton and London.

People travelling from Brighton to London Victoria were advised to take a Thameslink service to London Blackfriars, before taking the London Underground.
