Firefighters have been tackling a blaze at a Poundland warehouse in Worthing.
The blaze started in Montague Street at about 16:00 GMT, and huge plumes of smoke could be seen billowing from the roof of the building.
Five fire engines and an aerial ladder platform were earlier at the scene, but only one fire engine remained as crews cleared up, West Sussex Fire and Rescue said.
A spokesperson said: "There is a lot of smoke in the area, so we would urge residents to avoid the area for the time being to allow firefighters to work safely."
