Motorway reopens after multi-vehicle collision

The M1 has reopened following a serious multi-vehicle accident that partially closed the motorway.

An accident near Northampton led to the carriageway and junctions 15 and 14 at Milton Keynes being shut, with traffic stationary on Saturday evening.

Emergency services attended and traffic diversions were put in place from junction 15 southbound.

National Highways posted on social media just after midnight to say the road had reopened and traffic was returning to normal.
