Traitors star becomes charity's newest ambassador

A finalist of The Traitors has teamed up with a learning disability charity to become its newest ambassador.
Alexander Dragonetti appeared on the third series of the show and said if he had won he would have donated some of the prize money to Mencap, after the charity helped his late brother.
Fans of the show have since helped raise £95,000 for the Peterborough-based charity, which Mr Dragonetti said was "nothing short of incredible".
Residents asked for views on 20-year city plan

A consultation has begun for residents to have their say on future development in the city.
Peterborough's new local plan will set out priorities for housebuilding over the next 20 years, as well as things like transport, community facilities and other infrastructure.
Posh's Wembley win boosts pride in city

Peterborough United's historic Wembley victory has boosted civic pride, according to people who live in the city.
Posh beat Birmingham City 2-0 to become the first club to retain the EFL Trophy.
Susan Broccoli, of We Love Peterborough, said: "When you have a win like this, it puts the city on the map."
Future of disabilities hub subject to consultation

A public consultation will take place over the possible closure of a hub that teaches skills to people with learning disabilities and autism.
Peterborough City Council has proposed withdrawing funding from the Industrial Hub to save money.
Service users and their families met with representatives from the council on Tuesday.
£3k of suspected stolen goods donated to charity

Cambridgeshire Police has donated suspected stolen goods worth more than £3,000 to a local charity that supports women facing domestic abuse.
The goods were seized on 16 February, when police patrolling the Wellington Street car boot sale in Peterborough spotted people selling sweets, shampoo, body wash and detergents from suitcases and bags.
They have been given to Peterborough Women's Aid after it was nominated by the office of the area's police and crime commissioner.

The week in politics
Site preparation and construction works will start on Lincoln Road on Tuesday as £5.8m upgrades get under way.
The project is expected to finish in spring 2026.
The scheme will include construction of raised pedestrian crossing points, cycle stands, improved paving, electric vehicle charging points, repositioning of the northbound bus stop and a new zebra crossing near to the junction with Alma Road.
Peterborough City Council said Lincoln Road would be closed southbound, with a northbound one-way system between Windmill Street and Stone Lane.
Meanwhile, nearly £2m will be spent on pothole prevention as part of highways improvement works.
