Two arrested after drone spotted over prison

Two men have been arrested after a drone was spotted circling over a prison.
Officers who were called to Long Lartin prison near Evesham in Worcestershire shortly before 23:30 BST on Monday intercepted a car and recovered a drone from the back of a vehicle.
Police also found suspected Class A drugs and prescription medication, a spokesman for the West Mercia force said.
The men, 41 and 22, were held on suspicion of conveying prohibited items into a prison and being involved in the supply of Class A drugs. Both remained in custody on Tuesday.
Det Ch Insp James Bamber said the police response meant seized contraband "did not make it beyond the prison walls".
He said it was known that drugs going into the prison contributed to the exploitation of vulnerable people, both inside and outside Long Lartin, and also caused disruption in the jail.
"We will continue our efforts to detect and disrupt drone activity around the prison and build a greater intelligence picture to eradicate the problem," he said.
Anyone who sees a drone near Long Lartin or has information about suspicious activity is asked to call 999.
If people have information, but a drone is not airborne, they can report it anonymously through Crimestoppers.
