An allotment is being searched by police investigating the disappearance of a man they believe has been murdered.

Maris Ile, 54, was reported missing on 23 November - having left his home in King's Lynn to go to work three days earlier.

Four men and a woman arrested on suspicion of his murder have been released on bail until 11 June.

Norfolk Police did not reveal which allotment it was searching but said the public would see an increased presence in North Lynn over the coming days.

"I would like to reassure people that we are doing extensive searches and have a team of dedicated detectives working on this investigation to establish the facts around the circumstances of Maris' disappearance," said Det Supt Phill Gray.

"I'd ask anyone who may have any information - no matter how insignificant they think that information might be - to let us know."

Police said "numerous" addresses and vehicles were searched on Thursday before officers turned their attention to the allotment.
