A school is investigating after a video appearing to show a child being kicked and punched on the ground by other pupils was shared online.

The incident is believed to have taken place at The Commonweal School in Swindon on 2 July.

A spokesperson for the school said they would not comment on specific incidents involving young people, but added that it was "aware" of the video circulating on social media.

"We are investigating in detail, liaising with parents/carers and other agencies, and will respond appropriately," they said.

Wiltshire Police also told the BBC it was aware of the incident and was working with the school and other agencies "to understand the circumstances and determine the most appropriate action".
