Museum staff to host day of fruit cake fun
A team from a Surrey museum will be hosting a day of fun events based around a popular Christmas treat.
On 3 January Elmbridge Museum staff will be teaching youngsters about the history of fruitcake, eaten as part of the festive season around the world for centuries.
Activities include making an imitation fruitcake pompoms, which can then be launched on a catapult, and making a cake tin to take home.
It takes place at Hersham Centre for the Community, between 13:00 and 14:00, and anyone interested can register here.
