Three splash parks closed due to water quality

Three splash parks in Nottinghamshire have been closed after a council found the water quality was not up to standard.
Bassetlaw District Council confirmed on Tuesday it had been forced to close its splash parks in Retford, Worksop and Langold.
A council spokesperson said: "This year, we have been carrying out enhanced water testing at the splash parks and unfortunately, the most recent tests have generated results that do not meet the high standards needed for the parks to remain open."
The statement added that the council appreciated it was "disappointing" not having the facilities open during the warm weather, but "the safety of everyone using these popular facilities is our main concern".
The spokesperson added: "Since Monday, and over the next few days, we will be working hard to flush the systems and disinfect the spray heads in all our splash parks ahead of a scheduled re-testing of all parks on Thursday morning, with test results being returned to us between seven to 10 days later.
"Once again, we are sorry that we have been forced to close the splash parks, but please know that we are working hard with our external partners to have them open as soon as possible."
