Cancelled Christmas festival to return for Easter
Father Christmas is set to meet the Easter Bunny under plans to reschedule a Christmas festival cancelled due to Storm Darragh.
The Frinton Christmas Festival was due to take place on Saturday evening but was cancelled after wind and rain battered Essex.
Organisers said it had been "heartbreaking" to make the decision after months of planning.
"Very reluctantly we had to postpone it, we don't use the word cancel," said Wendy Ann Simon, chairwoman of Frinton Chamber of Commerce.
"We'd spent months and months to plan this and it was going to be the biggest one."
The event was cancelled on Friday "with a few tears" due to risks to the public due to the severity of the weather.
However, the organisers have said they planned to rearrange the festival for the spring to coincide with Easter.
Ms Simon said: "We thought we'd wait until the better weather and someone on the committee had a brilliant idea of Father Christmas meets the Easter Bunny.
"We'll have all the Christmas lights back up. Our grotto will be there, Christmas trees, lots of lights and lots of Easter eggs and perhaps people wearing bonnets."
