Four men have been arrested following a three-vehicle road collision on the M6 over the weekend.

The crash, involving a Skoda Superb, a Mini Clubman - pulling a trailer - and a VW Golf, occurred on the M6, between junction 44 and 45 northbound, just north of Carlisle, at about 20:00 GMT on Sunday.

The driver of the Mini Clubman suffered injuries, but Cumbria Police said the injuries were not of a serious nature.

A 32-year-old man from Leicester was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, obstructing police and failing to provide roadside breath test. He remains in police custody.

Two men from Sandwell, aged 31 and 32, and another man, 32, from Birmingham, were all arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and being over the prescribed limit for drink or drug-driving.

They remain in police custody.
