Seventeen people have been arrested as police seized thousands of pounds worth of drugs and cash in raids across the West Midlands.

Multiple warrants were carried out by West Midlands Police on Wednesday during a day of action targeting county lines drug dealing in the area.

Raids in Coventry led to eight people being arrested and more than £650,000 worth of drugs and cash being seized.

All those arrested have since been charged with offences including cannabis production, weapon possession and dangerous driving, a police spokesperson said.

Officers also raided seven addresses in Birmingham and Sandwell, arresting eight people and seizing cash and Class A drugs.

Two men from Birmingham have since been charged with conspiracy to supply cannabis.

Raids were also carried out in Wolverhampton and Walsall, where cash and suspected drugs were recovered and one man was arrested.
