Man charged with child sex offences

A man has been charged with child sex offences after a teenage girl was found in a car, police said.

The 30-year-old, of Durham Road, Stockton, was spotted driving erratically in Yarm Lane and stopped by police at about 2:00 GMT on Wednesday.

He was arrested on suspicion of child abduction and during a search of a property in Durham Road police found two other teenage girls.

He is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates' Court charged with two counts of sexual activity with a child.

The girls aged 15, 16 and 18, have been "safeguarded", Cleveland Police said.
