More than 300 islanders respond to Jersey harbour plans
A public consultation into Jersey's new harbour plans has received more than 300 responses from islanders.
Ports of Jersey launched the public consultation in September with two surveys to inform its future planning applications.
The Harbour Master Plan proposed to increase Elizabeth Harbour's capacity for managing freight, to modernise facilities and build a new terminal.
Captain Bill Sadler said the public engagement was "encouraging".
The Jersey harbour master said: "We want to see the harbour area used by as many people as possible, and that's what we will be concentrating on once we've increased the capacity to handle all the freight that comes through our lifeline port.
"I hope this regeneration will not only ensure the port's long-term viability, but also improve the experience of the thousands of people who flow through the port every year, create new commercial opportunities, and maximise the area's potential as a leisure, cultural and tourism destination."
Feedback from islanders included questions about parking, traffic in the area and the impact of any changes on boat owners.
Ports of Jersey said "detailed proposals" would be developed "later" in the master plan.
