'The flood has absolutely devastated my life'
A man who moved out of his flat and scrapped his car following the devastating New Year's Day floods said it was "the worst thing that has happened in my life".
David Howarth, from Stockport in Greater Manchester, said his "mental health was all over the place" after he only got £500 for scrapping the vehicle he said he had bought for £8,000.
He told BBC Radio Manchester it was his only means of getting to work.
