'Christmas Day hikes have been life-changing'

A hiker has spoken about how an annual Christmas Day walk in the Peak District has had a positive impact on his life.

The hike is aimed at anyone who might find themselves spending Christmas Day in solitude.

Jason Milner, a dad from Dronfield in Derbyshire, has been on the last two hikes while his daughter spent the day with her mum.

Mr Milner said: "My parents were in Australia, so I would have been home on my own feeling a little bit sorry for myself.

"[It has been] nice to get out and meet some similar people in a similar situation."
