Watch: How Gary Lineker's long BBC career came to an abrupt end
Match of the Day host Gary Lineker has confirmed he will leave the BBC after presenting his final episode of the programme on Sunday. He shared the update in a video posted to his Instagram account.
Lineker had been expected to continue fronting coverage of the FA Cup and World Cup.
However, a social media post he shared about Zionism that included an illustration of a rat, historically used as an antisemitic insult, attracted renewed criticism of the presenter last week.
The former England men's football international-turned TV presenter has worked for the BBC for over two decades and described his time as a "pleasure and a huge privilege".
Lineker also said that presenting Match of the Day had become "an integral part of my life".
