Nine-year-old uses pocket money to keep Newcastle city centre's homeless warm
A charitable youngster used his savings to provide food and warmth to the homeless.
Zeki, from Leadgate, used £180 of his pocket money to buy hats, scarfs, gloves and sandwiches to hand out in Newcastle.
He enlisted the aid of his proud grandma, Tonia, who despite struggling with her mobility helped with the city-centre deliveries.
"He's always good-natured. He's such a kind young man," said Tonia. "When he got the money out of his money bottle at my house, to help people, I was just chuffed to bits with him."
