A couple who had drugs at their home with an estimated street value of £100,000 have been jailed.

South Yorkshire Police said almost 1kg (2.2lbs) of heroin was found in a raid on the property in the Arbourthorne area of Sheffield.

Officers also recovered 156g (0.3lb) cocaine and 1kg (2.2lbs) of cannabis.

Shakeen Christian, 28, and Sophie Massey, 29, were sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court on Friday to six and three years respectively.

The force said they both pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin, cocaine, and cannabis.

Drug paraphernalia, mobile phones, and £600 in cash was also found at the Dagnam Crescent property during the raid.

The heroin had been cut with various synthetic opioids which pose a greater risk of overdose, the force said.

Det Sgt James Dyson said he was "extremely pleased" with the outcome of the case.

"[The warrant] turned up a significant amount of dangerous drugs and has led to the successful prosecution of these offenders," he said.

"Hopefully these custodial sentences will cause both offenders to think twice before involving themselves with illegal drugs again."
