A man has been rescued from a vehicle after it got stuck in moving flood water in Cornwall.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said the man was trapped inside the vehicle about halfway along Draynes Valley at about 16:13 GMT.

The fire service said the vehicle was in "knee deep" slow moving water.

Bude water rescue team used an inflatable boat to free the man who was left in the care of the ambulance service.

Fire crews from Bodmin and Liskeard stabilised the vehicle using a general purpose line.

The "dangerous location" meant the vehicle had to be left and will be recovered when water levels recede, the fire service said.

Cornwall Highways has been requested to close access to the location.
