A14 lorry fire at Fenstanton stops traffic

A lorry fire has stopped traffic on a major road in Cambridgeshire, with a plume of black smoke being seen for miles around.

Highways England said the HGV was "well alight" on the westbound A14 at Fenstanton when crews arrived about 10:30 GMT.

Traffic was stopped on both sides of the carriageway, between junctions 27 and 26, while the blaze was dealt with.

It would be some time before the road was reopened, Highways England said.
