The government says workers at the Lindsey plant in Lincolnshire have been "badly let down".

Union representatives say they have been unable to reach an agreement for Northern Ireland workers.

The exact number of job losses is not yet known but the Teesside plant currently employs 330 people.

The Unite union strongly denies the accusation made by the leader of Birmingham City Council.

"We have to hold our nose every time we step out", one Birmingham resident says.

John Cotton says the authority continues to urge Unite to accept the deal on the table.

Industrial action on Saturday 21 June has been suspended, following an interim offer.

More than 400 drivers at depots throughout Ayrshire have been on strike since 9 June.
