Swans

Network Rail says the bird made it onto the railway line near Hilsea on Thursday morning.

The birds were discovered in a layby on the A87 in the Highlands.

The arrest follows reports of swans being killed and birds injured along a river.

Sue MItchell says corpses are not being collected and the authorities "need to take action".

The swan was rescued from a pond at Brodie Castle and Estate last month but died of its injuries.

A female swan, killed by being shot with a ball bearing in a park, is the latest bird to be killed.

Bert was very popular at the marina where he lived with his partner Rose for ten years.

Sid roamed Healing Manor, in Healing, for several years and was popular with guests.
