Seaside reinvention: Towns that cater 'for every taste'

Eliza Rodger-Brown, from Colchester, loves Mersea Island beach, in Essex. "I often take myself off there to walk and beach-comb," she says.

Oh, we do like to be beside the seaside, we do like to be beside the sea. Don't we?

Young people living in coastal communities are being "let down and left behind", a Parliament report has said.

Issues with transport, housing and limited educational options post-16 are some of the reasons given for this.

A plan from the House of Lords suggests Blackpool could be key to solving these problems, peers want housing to be regenerated and improvements made to the coastal transport network as a priority.

"If you can solve it there, you can solve it anywhere," the report said.

Many of you clearly love your seaside towns though and have been sending us your favourite photos. Here's a selection.
