Manager among three stabbed at popular pub
A pub manager and two other people are in hospital after being stabbed in a "horrific" attack.
Police were called to the Navigation Inn, a Wetherspoon pub on Wharf Road in Kings Norton, at around 23:15 GMT on Saturday.
The force said two men and a woman were receiving treatment for stab wounds and remained in hospital.
A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is in custody. The two injured men have also been arrested.
Knife crime figures released in July showed the West Midlands Police area had the highest rate of offences in England and Wales.
'A horrific incident'
Wetherspoon spokesperson Eddie Gershon said the manager was undergoing surgery but did not have life-threatening injuries.
"This was a horrific incident at the pub," Mr Gershon said.
"The Navigation Inn is a popular local pub and this incident is completely out of character."
The BBC has contacted West Midlands Police for an update on the condition of the three injured people.
The Navigation Inn was closed on Sunday while police continued to investigate.
