Four boys in court after double stabbing in park

A 14-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after two teenagers were stabbed in a park on Monday.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is also charged with possession of a bladed article and affray.

He appeared before Preston Youth Court alongside a 15-year-old boy accused of section 18 wounding, possession of a bladed article and affray.

Two other boys, both aged 16, have been charged with assisting an offender. One of them is also accused of affray.

Two 15-year-old boys were stabbed at Moor Park in Preston at about 16:00 BST on Monday, said Lancashire Police.

One of them remains in hospital with a stab wound while the other's injuries are thought to be less serious.

All four defendants will return to court at a later date.
