Man dies in Romford house fire

A man has died after a fire broke out at a terraced house in east London.
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) said it was called to the end-of-terrace property in Belgrave Avenue, Romford, at 04:40 BST.
One man was rescued from the first floor of the building via an internal staircase by firefighters but he died at the scene. Two others were treated for smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire, which was extinguished by 06:50, is being investigated by the LFB and Metropolitan Police.
