Police were called to Blackberry Mead, Stevenage, to reports of a fire

Police are investigating after a fire at sheltered housing.

Officers were called to reports of a fire on Blackberry Mead, Stevenage, at about 05:45 GMT.

A Hertfordshire Constabulary scientific services unit has been seen entering a property that has been cordoned off by the force.

In a statement the force said "investigations are currently ongoing".
