A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after another man died from serious injuries in Birmingham, police have said.

West Midlands Police said the attack happened at Springfield Road, Kings Heath at about 17:00 BST on 7 July.

Craig Dean, also known as Yankee, died in hospital two days later.

A 23-year-old man was detained on Wednesday and remains in police custody as investigators continue with inquiries.

Three other people, two men aged 23 and 31 and a woman, aged 34, have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and also remained in custody on Wednesday evening.

Det Insp Dan Jarratt said: "Our thoughts remain with Mr Dean's loved ones and we are continuing with our work to establish exactly what happened.

"The investigation is moving at pace and we'd ask anyone who we've not yet spoken with, but who thinks they can help, to get in touch."
