The body of a woman has been found in a house following a fire.

Emergency services were called to reports of a house fire at Carterford Drive in Old Catton, near Norwich, at about 04:00 GMT on Thursday.

The woman has been named locally as Susan Woods.

An investigation into the cause of the fire was under way, a police spokesperson said.

Officers said the woman's next of kin had been informed and a cordon would remain in the area for "some time".

Fire crews from North Earlham, Wroxham, Aylsham, Hethersett, Acle and Long Stratton all attended the blaze.

An aerial ladder platform from Great Yarmouth was used and the urban search and rescue team from Dereham was also called.
