Man charged with assault of women and children
A man has been charged with assault after two women and two children sustained "significant" injuries, police said.
Devon and Cornwall Police said it received reports of a woman having been assaulted at a property on Foliot Road in Plymouth at around 17:00.
They were then told a second woman and two children had been assaulted on Crossway, Plympton, and believed the incidents to be connected.
Brandon Wyatt, 21, of Pasley Street, Plymouth, has been charged with a number of offences including aggravated burglary, wounding, grievous bodily harm and actual bodily harm.
A police spokesperson said: "All four people received hospital treatment.
"Their injuries have been described as significant but not life threatening."
They said police had deployed "numerous" units, including a helicopter before they arrested Wyatt on Derriford Road.
He is due to appear before Plymouth Magistrates Court on 13 January.
Detectives said the incident had been isolated and there was no immediate risk to the public.
