An airline is still having problems checking Channel Islands' passengers in for flights after a global technical issue on Tuesday, it says.

A spokesperson for Blue Islands said its booking system had still not been restored so its team was having to check in passengers at Jersey and Guernsey airports manually.

They said flights were unaffected but asked passengers to bring booking references and identification to the airport, and those who had already checked-in at home should do so again at the airport.

Aurigny suffered the same problems on Tuesday but said its systems had become operational on Wednesday morning.

Both airlines said on Tuesday the global outage had affected their departure control systems and that of several other airlines worldwide.

On Wednesday, the Blue Islands spokesperson said: "The software provider of Blue Islands' booking system, which also manages check-in, has experienced a global outage, which they are working to resolve and restore full functionality.

"This is affecting all airline customers using this platform."

Both airlines thanked customers for their patience and understanding.
