Taxi driver charged with rape in St Leonards

A taxi driver has been charged with rape in St Leonards, says Sussex Police.
The force said that a woman reported that she had been raped by a man who followed her into her home address after driving her home.
Abdulhamid Alammar, 34, a taxi driver, from St Leonards, was arrested and charged with rape and sexual assault.
He has also been charged with a count of sexual assault by touching in relation to a separate report made by another victim in 2023, police said.
He has been remanded in custody to appear before a court, yet to be confirmed, on 13 May.
The victim has been supported by specialist officers, the force added.
Det Insp Carol Shoesmith, of East Sussex Safeguarding Investigation Unit, said: "We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure all victims of rape and sexual assault are supported and receive the justice they deserve."
