Firefighters are investigating the cause of a large blaze at a scrapyard in East Yorkshire earlier.

Humberside Fire and Rescue Service said multiple crews were called to a fire at a commercial site on York Road in Pocklington, which started at about 09:45 BST.

At just before 19:00, the service said there were no further signs of fire and the focus had turned to looking into the cause.

Residents had been advised to keep their windows and doors closed because of the large amount of smoke, and motorists had been urged to avoid the area.
