The M8 has reopened after being closed for three hours due to a police incident.

Drivers were urged to use alternative routes, with the motorway closed between Junctions 26 westbound and Junction 29 eastbound since 06:00.

The A737 was also closed eastbound at St. James Interchange.

Social media posts from some drivers said they have been stuck for hours waiting for traffic to be able to move.

Junction 27 is the last junction before Glasgow Airport.

Traffic Scotland posted on social media that both roads were able to re-open at 09:15.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 05:40 on Saturday, 7 June, 2025, we were called to a report of concern for a woman on Renfrew Road, Paisley.

"A number of road closures were put in place.

"Emergency services attended and the woman was later taken to hospital for assessment. All roads have since reopened."
