Football ban for fan found with knuckle-duster
A football fan who was found with a weapon before a game has been banned from going to matches for three years.
Adon Francis, of no fixed address, was arrested after he was discovered with a knuckle-duster on 16 January in the centre of Shrewsbury ahead of Shrewsbury Town's match with Wrexham, West Mercia Police said.
The 39-year-old pleaded guilty at Telford Magistrates' Court on Tuesday to a charge of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
Francis was given a three-year football banning order (FBO) which stops him from attending any football match in the UK.
He was also ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work and will be unable to travel abroad when England play internationals, while the ban is in place.
Francis will also be added to the Shrewsbury Pub Watch Ban alongside the length of his FBO, stopping him from going into pubs that are part of the scheme.
