A man has appeared in court charged with manslaughter following a man's death in West Yorkshire.

Daniel Illingworth, 34, died following an assault on Bridge Street in Keighley in the early hours of 7 March, according to West Yorkshire Police.

Joseph Smith, 39, of Carlby Grove, Keighley, was initially charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm, but following Mr Illingworth's death the charge was changed to manslaughter.

Appearing at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Saturday, Mr Smith was remanded into custody and is next due to appear at Bradford Crown Court on 7 April.
