Children's charity seeks volunteer mentors

A Guernsey children's charity is looking for volunteers to mentor young adults.
Action for Children is launching a new support program for young people aged 16-25 on the island.
The mentors - who would be expected to support at least one young person each year - would be given training in mentoring, safeguarding and emergency first aid, the charity said.
Aaron Davies, from Action for Children, said the program would have "huge benefits for young people" and be "incredibly rewarding" for mentors.
He said: "It provides an opportunity to give back to the community and the chance to see the real impact of that volunteering on the lives of young people."
The charity is holding events for people interested in mentoring on Saturday 15 March and 22 March 2025 at its base on Victoria Road, St Peter Port.
