A man in his 60s has died after being hit by a car.

Thames Valley Police was called to Tongwell Street in Milton Keynes after reports a blue Ford Fusion was involved in a collision with a pedestrian, at 19:20 GMT on Wednesday.

The man died at the scene and police are appealing for witnesses and information.

Det Con Ian Stevens from the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit offered his thoughts to the man's family and friends.

* Police previously said the car involved was a black Audi A1.
