A 16-year-old girl has been taken to hospital with serious injuries, after being hit by a bus in Brighton, East Sussex.

It happened in Western Road about 15:40 BST on Monday, with the road closed between the clock tower and the H&M store.

Buses have been diverted around the area, and police said the road will stay closed while the incident is investigated.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
