A man has been arrested after a 16-year-old girl was injured by an e-bike.

Police said the teenage pedestrian was hit by the vehicle being ridden by two people in Ryde High Street, Isle of Wight, on 5 January.

The force said it had reviewed CCTV footage and arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of dangerous driving. He was later released pending more inquiries.

Officers have asked anyone with information to come forward.

They also asked anyone in Ryde town centre with CCTV or a doorbell camera to check footage between 20:00 GMT and 21:00 on Sunday 5 January to see if it captured an e-bike with two people on board, either being ridden or pushed.

The 16-year-old girl's injuries were not serious, police said.
