Jersey's health minister said 82.83% of radiology patients got their results within three days in 2023

The number of patients who received X-ray, CT and MRI scan results within three days has fallen year-on-year in Jersey.

Health Minister Tom Binet said 82.83% of radiology patients in 2023 got their results inside the timeframe, down from 87.05% in 2022.

Binet said despite the decrease, the figure remained above the 75% target the UK's NHS Getting it Right First Time programme suggested healthcare providers in the top quartile should hit.

He added X-rays had seen the largest drop, with 68.38% of results being turned around within three days, compared to 79.24% the previous year.

Binet - who was responding to a question from Deputy Jonathan Renouf - said 96.31% of CT scan results in 2023 where turned around in three days, which was down from 97.96% in 2022.

The figure for MRI scans was 87.85% in 2023, a drop from 92.56% in 2022, Binet added.

In his written response, Binet said the figures for 2024 should be available soon.
