A man has appeared in court charged with manslaughter after a 16-year-old girl died in Halifax.

Tilly Wooler, a student at Todmorden High School, died at Calderdale Royal Hospital in July 2024, West Yorkshire Police said.

Michael Shaw, 24, has also been charged with two counts of supplying Class A and B drugs.

Mr Shaw, of Bride Street, Todmorden, appeared before Bradford Magistrates' Court via video link.

The matter was sent to be heard at Bradford Crown Court on 11 February, with Mr Shaw remanded in custody.
