Plans for supermarket and care homes in market town
Plans have been put forward for a new supermarket, care home and nursery in a Herefordshire market town.
These would form part of the redevelopment of a long-disused brownfield site east of the B4214 Tenbury Road in Bromyard.
The scheme has been put forward for outline planning permission by Opulent Property Group, which has stated it "identifies underutilised parcels of land and add value through securing planning permission for redevelopment".
Comments on the application can be made on Herefordshire Council's website until 27 February.
The group's outline proposal consists of an 11,000 sq ft (1,021 sq m) as-yet-unnamed supermarket with a 41-space customer car park, accessed from a currently blocked-up entrance opposite Lower Hardwick Lane.
To the north would be a 75-bed care home, including guest bedrooms, communal spaces, cafe, library, kitchen and salon.
A separate "extra care facility" would have 24 single and 21 double bedrooms, along with a residents' lounge, bistro and laundry.
An existing two-storey building on the site would be converted into a nursery.
Details of the buildings are expected to follow in a separate application if the outline permission is granted.
