Officers want to speak to a man in connection with an alleged assault

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to after a man reportedly suffered a knife wound to the face.

South Yorkshire Police said the incident happened at about 19:40 GMT on 28 December in Charter Square in Sheffield city centre.

Two men were approached by two other men when one of them was allegedly assaulted and injured, police said.

Officers said they hoped the man captured on CCTV could help them with their inquiries. He is described as white, of medium build and aged between 18 to 26.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact South Yorkshire Police.
